Some Thoughts on the “Last Lull of the Laurel” Tape

recently, roxy posted something on her twitter.

i find it very funny and very vindicating that she chose to highlight the online/real life contrast here, because by pure happenstance i actually came across the listing for this tape just a bit before it was formally announced and i literally had the exact same thought. there IS something beautiful about giving such an unmistakably internet-based piece of art like this such a physical, tangible form. it's proof that we're here and we're real. we cannot rely on huge corporations to portray the emotional reality of the internet as it actually is. we have to rely on people like roxy, people who actually grew up within it and can accurately express how it interfaces with your mind and soul.

roxy gets it, she gets the secret fascination hidden in all things. the fact that even a completely meta-textual moment of beauty like this is so directly acknowledged is incredible. shit like this is exactly the reason why she's my favorite artist.
